WHYVONNE

SINGER SONGWRITER

The skeleton’s in my closet are the bones of my songs.

The Butterfly Effect is….

One song, one melody, one note inspiring another.

“The Butterfly Effect”

The image features the word "Whyvonne" written in a cursive, neon-style font, with a small double heart shape on the right side.
A photograph of a woman with long blonde hair, wearing a black hat and black top, is displayed amidst green grass. A large orange butterfly is perched on a twig in front of her photo. The background of the photo features a silhouette of trees and an outdoor scene.

WORDS…

Think B4 U Speak

is an emotional reflection on the power of language — how the things we say

can heal or destroy. The song explores the invisible bruises left by verbal abuse,

drawing on personal pain and resilience.

Inspired by one of my late brother’s paintings

— a rose in the mouth — it symbolizes both the beauty and danger of the words we

carry. “Words” is a reminder to speak with compassion… because once spoken, they

can’t be undone.

IN THE STUDIO

The skeleton’s in the closet… the place where hidden stories turn to songs.

Whyvonne – Artist Bio

Whyvonne is a singer-songwriter from Richmond, Virginia, whose music transforms truth into art. Her songs blend heartfelt storytelling with the grit of real

life-each one a reflection of survival, self-discovery, and emotional healing. She first picked

up a guitar as a teenager at an all-girls boarding school in Maryland, teaching herself to play

and writing songs within months. After graduation, she moved into a tiny studio

apartment—roughly the size of a closet-working by day as a florist and playing gigs at night,

sometimes entering contests that paid in food instead of cash. It wasn’t glamorous, but it kept

her writing and performing. After nearly three decades away from music to raise a family and

build a home, Whyvonne returned to her first love with a renewed sense of purpose. She

spent a year compiling Shades of Peace, a book of more than forty songs from her early

years, preserving the work that shaped her voice. That project reignited her creativity and

inspired her next chapter: Closet Songs by Whyvonne. Written and produced in her self-built

“closet studio,” her music blends pop, singer-songwriter, folk, and country influences—letting

the lyrics decide the genre. Her sound reflects the artists who shaped her youth—Stevie Nicks

and Fleetwood Mac, Joni Mitchell, Heart, Joan Jett, Yes, Bob Dylan, Cat Stevens, Dan

Fogelberg, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Molly Hatchet, and Lynyrd Skynyrd—along with many

others from the era whose voices helped shape her storytelling. Whyvonne creates music for

anyone who has ever felt alone, unheard, or misunderstood. Her songs are a safe place to

land-honest, emotional, and rooted in truth. In her world, the skeletons in her closet aren’t

secrets... they’re stories. And those stories become the bones of her songs.

“Every song has a skeleton with a story.” They capture the❤️heart behind the music.
